US to end travel ban on India and Europe soon

After the arrival of the second wave of coronavirus pandemic, several countries imposed a travel ban and had a number of restrictions from countries like India where the spread of Covid has been huge. American President Joe Biden said that the United States is reviewing the situation and is keen to list the travel restrictions on the non-US citizens arriving to USA. He said that the process is currently on. Joe Biden also said that a clarity on the travel ban is expected in the next few days. It is clear that USA will lift the travel ban on India and Europe. German Chancellor Angela Merkel raised the issue recently after Joe Biden had a swift reply. Joe Biden had a discussion about the impact of the delta variant of coronavirus.

Several airlines urged the US administration to lift the restrictions as there are lot of non-US citizens are struck in countries like Britan and Europe. There are several other countries which imposed restrictions. The White House launched interagency working groups with European Union, Britain, Canada, and Mexico to look at how they can lift the restrictions eventually. The talks are delayed due to various reasons. The talks are initiated again and there are several ongoing discussions about how to lift the restrictions. The safety concerns remain to be the top priority. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggested the airlines to implement international passenger contact tracing. A top official from the White House said that the travel restrictions on India and Europe are expected to be lifted by the end of July.
