China which was shattered with coronavirus is slowly recovering. The schools, colleges, playgrounds and the national highways in the capital Beijing are closed from Friday due to the heavy pollution after China ramped up the production of coal. The leaders across the globe gathered in Scotland to discuss about how to avert the climate changes in COP26 Summit. Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a written address as he could not attend in person. China is the world's largest emitter of greenhouse gases and is also responsible for the climatic changes. After the supply chains have rolled in the country, China ramped up the production of coal.

A blanket of smog surrounded Beijing and the visibility in some of the regions is reduced to less than 200 metres as per the weather forecaster of China. All the schools of the capital are shut and the physical education classes along with other outdoor activities are ordered to stop. Beijing will host the Winter Olympics in February 2022. The major highways heading to Shanghai, Harbin and Tianjin are closed because of the poor visibility. The pollution reached new heights and is named as very unhealthy for the general population. The pollution can cause respiratory illness. The authorities of Beijing told that the smog will continue till the evening of Saturday or even more. The root cause is detected due to the fossil fuel burning.
