Russia Declares War on Ukraine

As predicted, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced war on Ukraine to defend the separatists in the country. "I have made the decision of a military operation to protect the people of the Donbas separatist region," told Vladimir Putin. He appealed to the soldiers of Ukraine to lay down their arms and return back home. Several explosions were heard in Ukraine's capital Kyiv and the port city Mariupol after the announcement came from Vladimir Putin. Ukraine's ambassador at the United Nations revealed that Putin declared war on Ukraine. American President Joe Biden called the move an unprovoked one by the Russian military forces. He also said that the world will hold Russia unaccountable.

The United Nations Security Council asked Putin not to escalate with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. Brent Oil surged to 100 USD per barrel and this is the first time in the recent years. Russia is the world's second-largest oil producer and it sells crude to the European refineries. BSE Sensex lost 1458 points or 2.55 percent and NSE Nifty moved 416 points or 2.43 percent. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida told that Japan will work with G7 members on the issue with Ukraine. USA and its allies warned Russia to prevent war and the American Intelligence staged more than 1.5 lakh troops at the border of Ukraine. Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said that the move of Russia would make the country tensed. He said that Ukraine never posed as a threat to Russia and they will defend if attacked.
